Every Cause Begins at Home

Before a child can learn, they need a quiet place to study.
Before a loved one can heal, they need a safe place to rest.
Before a family can thrive, they need a stable foundation beneath their feet.

At Pima County Community Land Trust (PCCLT), we believe every other cause depends on one thing: home. Because without a safe, affordable home, everything else—education, health, opportunity, and community—stands on shaky ground.

Your gift helps local Tucson families find stability, build equity, and stay rooted in the communities they love. Your donation doesn’t just provide housing—it creates the foundation for everything that follows.

Pima County Community Land Trust is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Your contribution is tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.

Tax ID: 27-2635994

Good news for Arizona residents: Your donation also qualifies for a dollar-for-dollar state tax credit through the Qualifying Charitable Organization (QCO) program. Unlike a deduction, a tax credit directly reduces your state income tax. For Tax Year 2025, contribution limits are $495 for single filers and $987 for married couples filing jointly.

How Your Gift Creates More Homes

Every dollar you give goes directly toward building stability and long-term wealth for Tucson families. Your donation helps us:

  • Acquire homes to keep them permanently affordable – protecting them from being sold on the open market and ensuring they remain part of the community.
  • Build new homes – expanding our portfolio so more families can achieve homeownership.
  • Fund housing counseling programs – giving low-to-moderate income families the guidance, education, and tools they need to be ready for homeownership and long-term financial success.

Every contribution, no matter the size, directly helps families secure a stable home and lay the foundation for generational wealth.

The Problem

For most families, homeownership is the single most important asset they will ever have. Yet for many, buying a home is increasingly out of reach. Without access to affordable, permanent housing, families miss the opportunity to build stability, security, and generational wealth.

The reality is simple: a stable home is the foundation for everything else in life. Children do better in school, families can plan for the future, and communities thrive when families have a place to call their own.

Our Solution

At the Pima County Community Land Trust (PCCLT), we make homeownership possible through permanently affordable housing, down payment assistance, and HUD-approved counseling. Our programs don’t just provide homes — they give families a foundation for long-term stability, financial security, and the ability to pass wealth to future generations.

Every home we provide is more than a roof over someone’s head — it’s a launchpad for education, health, opportunity, and prosperity. When families have a stable home, everything else becomes possible.

Our Impact

The Pima County Community Land Trust (PCCLT) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2010 in response to the 2008 housing crisis. Since 2010, PCCLT has steadily grown its portfolio of permanently affordable housing to serve our community. Our homeownership program now includes 105 single-family homes, and we have added two new housing developments near downtown Tucson, bringing eight additional homes online. In our affordable rental program, we provide 18 single-family homes and a fourplex for families in need.

Through our HUD-approved counseling program, we have supported 1,500 low-to-moderate income households since 2019, helping families achieve stability and long-term financial security. Over the years, we have invested $4.3 million in write-downs to keep homes affordable and $6 million in new construction and rehabilitation projects to revitalize neighborhoods.

Our programs have facilitated 130 home sales and resales, provided $600,000 in down payment assistance, and generated $11.2 million in loan originations, ensuring that more Tucson families can access safe, stable housing and build wealth.

“Homeownership has changed my life in the sense that I feel some future security for my children. I have learned to do repairs to my A/C and my home in general. My kids have made excellent friends. We have great neighbors and a sense of security that we had not had previously.” — Julio
