Property Tax Resources
Senior Valuation Protection
Qualified applicants may "freeze" the Limited Value of their primary residence for three consecutive years
Qualifications:
- Applicant's name must be on the title of the property
- Applicant must be a minimum of age 65
- The property must be the applicant's primary residence for a minimum of 2 years. An applicant can only have one primary residence.
- Applicant must have owned the home for at least 2 years
- Household income from all sources cannot exceed annual income limits determined by the AZ Dept of Revenue
To apply, file the following documents at the Assessor's Office or mail them to 240 North Stone Avenue Tucson, AZ 85701
- Redemption of Property Tax Exemption Waiver
- Copy of birth certificate, passport, or Arizona driver's license
- Copy of federal tax return pages 1 and 2
- Copy of Social Security benefits statements
- 1099 forms from financial institutions
- Copy of year end statements from your financial institutions
100% Disabled Persons Exemption
Qualified applicants may be eligible to receive a reduction on their current assessed value
The 100% Disabled Person's Exemption Program can result in a lower Limited Property Value which may have the effect of reducing your property tax amount.
To apply, file the following documents at the Assessor's office 240 N Stone Avenue
- Redemption of Property Tax Exemption Waiver
- Arizona Department of Revenue Medical Form
- Most recent Arizona State Income Tax Return (or notarized statement of income for the previous year)
- Description of properties owned in Arizona
- Power of Attorney (if applicable)
Widow/Widower's Exemption
Qualified applicants may be eligible to receive a reduction on their current assessed value
Qualifications:
- Permanent resident of Arizona
- Applicant must have resided with their spouse at the time of the spouse's death
- Applicant must not have property with a net Assessed Value exceeding the annual limit determined by the AZ Dept of Revenue
- Applicants must have owned the property as of January 1 of the year the exemption is being claimed
- Total household income must not exceed limit determined by the AZ Dept of Revenue

- Redemption of Property Tax Exemption Waiver
- Spouse's Death Certificate
- Most recent Arizona State Income Tax Return (or notarized statement of income for the previous year)
- Description of properties owned in Arizona
